SIMULTANEOUS (CONCURRENT) TRANSLATION
During simultaneous translation, the translator takes place in a cabinet equipped with microphone and earset. The translator hears the speakings of the speaker and at the same the translator translates these to the target language; the translations are transmitted to the audience through the microphone. In a working day of average 6 hours, the simultaneous translator can translate material being equal to 65 pages of written work. The simultaneous translators work maximum of 6 hours in 1 day working as a translator in a conference or in a meeting. Simultaneous translation is preferred more in big and special meetings where multi languages are used. |
